Peace Forum Held at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia

SGM Student Division members studying at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) held a peace forum based on SGI President Ikeda's 2011 SGI Day Peace Proposal to share Mr Ikeda's philosophy of peace at Kolej Kediaman Tun Fatimah, UTHM on November 30, 2011. About 78 people attended the forum.


In the forum, a panel of four speakers shared Mr Ikeda's insights on today's social challenges, his specific recommendations on the abolition of nuclear weapons and the development of a strong human rights culture to achieve world peace. They pointed out that Mr Ikeda is convinced that through unceasing efforts and overcoming challenges, people can manifest limitless potential, live a creative life and create a new humanism.

In the question-and-answer session, a participant pointed out that she gained a lot of knowledge regarding nuclear weapons and the effort to abolish them. She would also share her knowledge with her family and friends. Tun Fatimah Residential College Assistant Fellows, Ms Siti Fairus and Ms Nurul Najah Hatun expressed their deep appreciation to SGM Johor and hoped to join hands in conducting more activities with SGM Johor.
