The SGM Beacon Group is made up of SGM members who are in the healthcare services profession. The members include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and traditional medicine practitioners. Many of the participants are form the Youth Division.

The theme was “Towards 2030 Together With President Ikeda”. SGM Vice General Director Johnny Ng and Youth Division Leader Angela Ng shared about the mentor-disciple relationship based on their own experiences. There was also a lively discussion from the Buddhist perspective on various issues such as care of the terminally ill and the doctor-patient relationship.

A central message was the importance of the present time as an opportunity for every single participant to live true to the spirit of mentor and disciple. The participants made fresh determinations to advance along the paths of their mission in unity with SGI President Ikeda.
