Anti-nuclear Weapon Exhibition
Held at SMK Tinggi Kajang
SGM co-organised an anti-nuclear weapon exhibition with SMK Tinggi Kajang to hold the "From A Culture of Violence to A Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" exhibition at the school on July 6, 2011, creating the awareness on the threat of global nuclear weapons to more than 1,200 teachers and students. This was the second collaboration between SGM and SMK Tinggi Kajang since the "Seeds of Hope" exhibition held last year.
In conjunction of the exhibition, Dr Wendy Yee, represented SGM in giving a speech and presenting some SGI President Ikeda’s books to the school, which were received by the school principal Encik Nik Mat b. Nik Man. A video entitled "Testimonies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Women Speak Out for Peace" was also shown. The principal was impressed by the exhibition, the students’ narrating skills and complimented SGM’s efforts in organising the exhibition and training the students.
More than 60 students from the school volunteered as working committee and narrators for the exhibition, an effort to empower the youth in the community.
