SGM Selangor Organises Forum on SGI President Ikeda’s 2011 Peace Proposal

The SGI President Ikeda’s Peace Proposal Forum 2011, organised by the SGM Selangor Student Division at the SGM Selangor Culture Centre on 29 June 2011 was held with an attendance of more than 1,100 SGM members and their friends. The forum was held to share President Ikeda’s peace philosophy and humanistic values in society.

This year’s peace proposal is entitled "Toward a World of Dignity for All: The Triumph of the Creative Life". Among the topics discussed were the devaluation of language which led to the fragmentation of society; returning to the primordial questions of the purpose and direction of life; bringing out the limitless potential in people to make a difference and inspiring others to do the same. The panellists also explored President Ikeda’s proposals on the abolition of nuclear weapon and building a culture of human rights. At the end, the participants also wrote down their impressions on peace.
