Anti-nuclear Weapons Exhibition
Held at SMJK Yu Hua, Kajang

In support of the global "Nuclear Abolition Day" on June 25, SGM organised the "From A Culture of Violence to A Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" exhibition at SMJK Yu Hua, Kajang from June 21 to 23, 2011, creating awareness of the threat of global nuclear weapon in more than 3,500 teachers and students.

On June 21, 2011, the exhibition was opened by the Deputy Principal Madam Chang Keng Ling during the morning assembly. Dr Wendy Yee Mei Tien represented SGM and presented a speech. She also presented 17 books written by SGI President Ikeda to the school which were received by Madam Chang.

In her opening speech, Madam Chang thanked SGM for the second collaboration since last year’s "Seeds of Hope" exhibition in the same school. She hoped the students would gain a better understanding of the issues of peace and nuclear weapons through the exhibition.

The teachers then toured the exhibition while the students viewed a video entitled Testimonies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Women Speak out for Peace. Dr Yee and other SGM representatives also held a friendly exchange with the teachers and were later joined by school principal Mr Chan Kai Choon.

All the members of the working committee and narrators for the exhibition were students of the school, an effort to develop and empower youth in the community.
