The Art Route - A Joint Exhibition by Malaysian Artists

| Launched of "The Art Route - To Malaysian Artists" Book II |
From June 11 to 26, 2011, 74 exquisite artworks by 74 Malaysian Chinese artists were displayed at the Soka Exhibition Hall, Wisma Kebudayaan SGM. In order to promote understanding among artists and pass on their valuable experiences, SGM gathered the artists from among those featured in renowned Malaysian writer and artist, Ms Duola's books "The Art Route - To Malaysian Artists" Books I and II. Published by SGM, the books recorded the artists' profession, creative spirit and their ideology and implementation of art. Among the artworks displayed were those by late Prof Datuk Yim Yoo Loon, Prof Chong Chen San, Yeoh Jin Leng, Tan Tong, Prof Dr Tay Lian Soo and the late Dato' Sim Mow Yu and the late Yiu Hong.
On hand to officiate the opening on June 11, 2011 was Dr Hou Kok Chung, Deputy Minister of Higher Education. In his speech, he said that the works exhibited reflected the purity of the artists' hearts which could help to clean a polluted society and lead the citizens onto the correct path of life.
Ms Duola (real name Lim Guat See) also commended SGM for its support for art and publications and hoped that with further support from the public, Malaysian art would have a brighter future.
At the opening, Dr Hou also launched "The Art Route - To Malaysian Artists" Book II which contains Duola's interviews with 45 artists.
