SGM Sabah holds Soka Youth Camp in Tawau

SGM Sabah Youth Division members in Tawau held a Soka Youth Camp at the Tawau View Top Resort on June 4 and 5, 2011 in order to strengthen unity among Youth Division members and deepen their understanding of SGM and SGI President Ikeda’s philosophy and ideals.

Sixty participants were divided into six groups to carry out activities. The members learned about President Ikeda’s guidance in order to rouse up their courage and confidence in challenging difficulties and problems. They learned about SGM, human revolution, President Ikeda and kosen-rufu. Six participants also shared their experiences.

As there is a rise in suicide rates among young people in society, a discussion based on “Nobody Have the Right to Harm Life” was conducted on June 5. President Ikeda said, “Everybody’s life in this universe is equally precious.” (unofficial translation) Nichiren Daishonin says, “And the Buddha says that life is something that cannot be purchased even for the price of entire world system. (WND-1, p. 983) As such, nobody should commit suicide and nobody has the right to harm life.
