Tadika Seri Soka Organises Story-telling Seminar
In order to foster closer relationship between parents and children, Tadika Seri Soka (TSS) held a talk on the subject, conducted by an expert in the field, Judith Shaik. 150 pupils aged four to six years old and 200 parents attended the seminar.
TSS also set up twelve story stations where children could choose and listen to their favourite stories. On average, each child had time to listen to four stories.
Judith Shaik hails from Australia and is a permanent resident in Malaysia. She believes that stories can help to increase children’s concentration and build up their confidence. She also says that telling stories to children is not teaching them to learn a language but to stimulate their intelligence. When parents share stories with their children, they should share interesting stories and not the skill in telling the stories.
