On December 12, 2010, SGM held entrance-level Buddhist study examinations all over the country. A total of 2,407 members, mostly Women Division members, sat for the examination at thirty-three venues. SGM General Director Choo Kong Fei was present at the SGM Culture Centre to give encouragement to the candidates before the examination.

The examination covered fundamentals of Nichiren Buddhism such as the life of Nichiren Daishonin, the Ten Worlds, faith, practice and study and the history of the Soka Gakkai. Participants also answered questions on selected goshos such as "On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime", "On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land", "A Warning against Begrudging One’s Fief", "On Establishing the Four Bodhisattvas as the Object of Devotion" and so on.

The appointment-level study examination was the entry-level Buddhist study examination of SGM, followed by elementary, intermediate and advanced levels.

SGI President Ikeda stated that in the SGI, Buddhist study is the source of a life of value creation, the philosophy of human revolution and the strategy to absolute victory. As such, members sitting for the examination would not only enrich their own minds and philosophy, but also get to challenge themselves in faith, hence making it an important realisation of the two ways of practice and study.
