Tadika Seri Soka 2010 Graduation Ceremony

On October 17, 2010, Tadika Seri Soka (TSS) held its 16th graduation ceremony. The cheerful and lively ceremony was held in the TSS auditorium, which was filled to the brim with excited parents and children.

SGI President and TSS founder Daisaku Ikeda , who is constantly thinking about the children’s future growth and development, sent his congratulatory message. Mr. Ikeda congratulated the children on their graduation, and expressed his great joy in seeing their growth and happiness. He encouraged the children to read a lot of good books – stating: “The lights of wisdom, courage, and friendship in the whole world are fully packed inside good books. When you read good books, the lights that are packed in them will illuminate your hearts, cultivating your hearts richly and abundantly.”

TSS Principal Mr Lee Kah Poh took the opportunity to thank the parents of the graduating children who were present. At the same time, he also expressed his gratitude to SGM members, TSS teachers and staff for their efforts in supporting the overall operations of the kindergarten. A total of 2,284 students have graduated from TSS since its inception in 1995. Mr Lee hoped that all the children will live with the spirit of “strong, righteous and lively”, and grow up gallantly and boldly.

This was followed by the speech of the chairman of the TSS board of directors, Mr Choo Kong Fei. He hoped that the children will engrave whatever they have learned in TSS and practise them in their daily lives. He hoped that they will all spread their wings and soar into the future, and quoted from Mr Ikeda’s novel The New Human Revolution (“The Future” chapter): “Those who have hope for the future lead happy lives. Those who strive for a better tomorrow possess a vibrant life force. Spread your wings and soar into a bright future, for the sake of peace and victory for humanity!”

In conjunction with the graduation ceremony, the graduating six-year-old children staged a play entitled “Star Park Wonderland” based on a story written by Mr. Ikeda. Through this story, Mr. Ikeda hopes to impart to the little princes and princesses the importance of having a “magnanimous heart”, “kind and gentle heart” and “courageous heart”. Such values are an integral part of the educational curriculum of TSS which is founded on the principles of humanistic education.

The ceremony was attended by over 500 parents and guests.
