SGM and the Cao Tang Men Eastern Arts Society co-organised calligraphic art exhibitions at SGM Selangor Culture Centre, Klang, from July 9 to 11, 2010, featuring about 200 fans with calligraphic ink paintings.

After the opening, the President of Cao Tang Men Eastern Arts Society, Cheah Thien Soong also gave a calligraphy demonstration to the delight of many spectators. On July 11, 2010, Dr Cheah also conducted a lecture on a master of Nanyangism, Chen Wen Hsi, his art style and career, giving the audience a deeper understanding of the “Nanyang Style.” The exhibition attracted about 900 viewers and numerous positive remarks.

Selangor

The same exhibition was then exhibited from July 23 to 25, 2010, along with other artists, at the SGM Pahang Culture Centre, Kuantan, attracting more than a thousand visitors. Two exchanges were conducted on July 25, 2010, allowing art lovers to further understand the artists’ journeys in art.

Dr Cheah was highly appreciative of the members of SGM Culture Centre (Pahang Branch) who have worked hard in making the exhibition a great success. He hoped SGM will continue in its efforts in supporting the art world and in increasing and raising the masses’ knowledge and appreciation of art.

Pahang
