One hundred and eighty 6-year-old pupils from Tadika Seri Soka (TSS) accompanied by 40 teachers and 16 Soka University students from Japan travelled by four buses to visit the airbase of Fire and Rescue Department in Subang, as an outdoor study tour on February 27, 2010.
This trip is an extension of what the pupils learned during their first school term on the topic of “Air and Land Transport Facilities.” Here, they could have a better understanding of these facilities on the ground.
The children gathered early at the kindergarten for the trip. They were very excited. The Fire and Rescue Department had placed importance on their visit and every member of the team welcomed the pupils and teachers warmly.
The children not only had the opportunity to understand the uses of various types of equipment, but also in handling and mounting the facilities. Every one of them was very happy and excited. The children thanked the staff of the Fire and Rescue Department by singing a “Thank You” song and presented them with gifts. It was an enjoyable and educational trip for all. Some of the children were so inspired by the earnest attitude of the Fire and Rescue personnel that they said they wanted to be fire fighters when they grow up.
