On January 16, 2010, SGM Kuala Lumpur performing groups were invited to perform at an aid presentation ceremony for needy students from 18 schools in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The event was organised by Yayasan Bakti Khidmat Masyarakat Malaysia (YBKMM) and held at SJKC On Pong II, in Ampang. A total of 210 students, including 20 children from Tadika Seri Soka received aid in the form of school stationery and bags. Orchestral and lion dance performance by SGM’s Galaxy Chamber Orchestra Junior violinists and Martial Art Troupe respectively, enlivened the atmosphere of the ceremony. YBKMM was established on July 17, 2000 as part of the government’s efforts to realise a caring society in line with the nation’s Vision 2020.
