On July 25, 2009, SGM Johor together with the Asian-Pacific Forum on Families (APFAM), the Association of Wives of Elected Representative of People (JUITA) and the Johor Family Foundation made donations to help poor single mothers in a ceremony held at the SGM Johor Culture Centre, Johor Bahru.

The wife of the Menteri Besar of Johor, Datin Paduka Dr. Jamilah Ariffin officiated the event. Among the distinguished guests present were the Johor Jaya State Assemblyman Tan Cher Puk and wife, Tanjung Puteri State Assemblyman Adam Sumiru and the Chief Executive Officer of the Johor Family Development Foundation, Haji Muji bin Salimon.

The donations were made by various organisations such as the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (RM10,000) and Junior Chambers International of Johor Bahru (RM5,000). Earlier, RM25,000 was raised through charity sales by SGM Johor in collaboration with Taman Seri Austin and Dynasty View Sdn Bhd. One hundred single mothers from different ethnic groups received donations in cash, rice, dried foodstuff and daily provisions.
