Young Women Division Day 2009

KL YWD Day
This year’s Young Women Division (YWD) day marks the first anniversary of the founding of Ikeda Kayo-Kai, a young women's leadership training group. YWD members of SGM have gathered for commemorative meetings in their respective locality.

SGI YWD Leader Mitsuko Tateno also sent a congratulatory message for the occasion. In the message, she shared that in April 2009, the "World Ikeda Kayo-Kai" apricot tree was planted to commemorate the launch of the "World Ikeda Kayo-Kai" in the Apricot Hill located near the Makiguchi Memorial Hall, Hachioji, Tokyo. President Ikeda says that the significance of planting a tree is to "plant life" and the apricot garden symbolises the hope-filled "century of women" where he determined to watch over this garden as though he is watching over the young women – as a way of expressing his gratitude towards his mentor and his earnest wish for the happiness and victory of the women and young women divisions.

The guidelines are: 1) Be cheerful suns of happiness, 2) Study the world’s foremost life philosophy, 3) Live your youth undefeated by anything, 4) Engage in dialogue to foster friendship and humanistic ideals, and 5) Open the gateway to the eternal victory of mentor and disciple.
