OUM Representatives Visit Tadika Seri Soka

On April 10, representatives from Open University Malaysia (OUM) visited Tadika Seri Soka (TSS) in Cheras. Welcoming them were TSS Chairman of Board of Directors Choo Kong Fei, Principal Lee Kah Poh and a number of TSS staff. The group from OUM consists of OUM’s Registrar Puan Kamariah Mohd Noor, Senior Manager of Corporate Relations Unit Datin Teh Raqamah Abdullah, Manager of Corporate Relations Unit Puan Rahmah Daud and Manager for Centre for Graduate Studies Puan Khairani Ab. Razak.

Upon arrival, the visitors were ushered to the assembly hall, where the children of the afternoon session were eagerly waiting. The visitors interacted for about half-an-hour with the children and even participated in a Malaysian folk song dance-along. Following the assembly, the visitors took a tour around the kindergarten.

OUM Registrar Puan Kamariah was impressed with the efforts made by TSS in providing the children with a wonderful learning environment. In particular, she was impressed with the activities which introduced multiculturalism elements to the young minds. “Through the dance we did at the assembly just now, children were exposed to the cultures of different races in Malaysia.” Another point which impressed her was the efforts the teachers made in engaging the parents. She says, “It is only right that parents should collaborate with the teachers in educating their children. I hope the other kindergartens are also doing the same thing.”
