Tadika Seri Soka celebrates its 18th anniversary with a series of activities for both parents and children on 13th April 2013 (Saturday). A total of 288 children and 375 parents attended the activities in the kindergarten.

The kindergarten has progress steadily since its official opening on 16th April 1995. It has been made possible with the unanimous support, unconditional love and sincere care from the founder, Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, the members and volunteers from Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM), the Malaysia Soka Education Alumni, the parents and the graduates of Tadika Seri Soka itself. The staff and teachers have worked untiringly and selflessly throughout the years for the growth of the kindergarten.

Malaysia Soka Education Alumni has continuously contributed picture books during anniversary and the number of books has reached 5674 in total since 2005. A book presentation ceremony was conducted with 1004 books donated this round. These picture books were used by the teachers in the classrooms through role play sessions, puppet shows and shadow play. The story sharing sessions were followed up by various games and activities. The children participated in these sessions with bright smiles. The teachers and children were both having a lot of fun during the event.

The parents have grasped the opportunity to learn from the two sessions of educational talks in the kindergarten hall. Assocciate Professor Dr. Loh Sau Cheong from University of Malaya shared on “Unfolding Children’s Potential” in Mandarin while Professor Dato’ Dr. Noraini Idris, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) delivered a talk entitled “Fostering Innovative and Noble Generation for the Future” in English Language. The parents commented that the talks were enlightening and motivating.

All the activities were conducted smoothly and successfully in a joyous and harmonious atmosphere with the support and participation of graduates of Tadika Seri Soka. They shared their impressions after the event, “There is hope, courage and friendship in Tadika Seri Soka. We can feel the founder’s heart is always with us.”

The celebration of Tadika Seri Soka 18th anniversary marks a new departure for the kindergarten. All of us will continue to strive in unity for the happiness of the children and the development of Soka education in Malaysia.
