June 10 marked the 70th anniversary of the women’s division (WD) founding. To celebrate this significant milestone, WD members nationwide and their friends gathered online for anniversary celebrations. A total of 731 study meetings and dialogue sessions, which carried the theme “Cherry, Plum, Peach and Damson” were held in small groups, attracting some 10,000 members, including 432 new friends.

The members studied the significance of the Buddhist principle of “cherry, plum, peach and damson” as expressed in SGI President Ikeda’s guidance selection The Wisdom for Creating Happiness and Peace and shared the joy and victory they have attained in life through exerting themselves for kosen-rufu.

In Pahang on June 10, participants discussed challenges in becoming the “sun of the family and practising the philosophy of “cherry, plum, peach and damson.” In one of the meetings, a Kaho Group member also shared how she and her family members, numbering 10 in total, recovered from COVID-19.

A warm and lively atmosphere also pervaded meetings in Sarawak. At one such meeting on June 18, members actively shared their impressions on the theme. Two participants also shared how they individually improved relationships within the family and overcame sarcoma.

SGM WD leader May Chan participated in meetings in various venues, where she sincerely encouraged and sent her warmest regards to every member. Besides using waka poems and photos taken by President Ikeda to WD as encouragement, she also urged the members to see through the devilish functions obstructing their growth to become better persons. She also urged them to resolutely carry out human revolution and appreciate people around them with gratitude, enabling them to bloom in their own unique ways, just like the cherry, plum, peach and damson.
