SGM has once again participated in Malaysia's National Day celebrations at the national-level on August 31, 2012. The highlight of this year's National Day celebrations is the evening celebrations held at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil National Sports Complex, Kuala Lumpur.

For this event, 1,000 Youth Division members from SGM, participated in the "Persembahan Himpunan Khas Janji Ditepati" (Promises Fulfilled Special Gathering Performance), a gathering teeming with the exuberance and power of the youthful Generation-Y. SGM put up a vibrant gymnaestrada/human dynamics performance that included human pyramids, human towers and an energetic flag display. They were part of a team of performers numbering 8,500 people.

The night's celebrations also included a dances, a Tweet Up Merdeka marathon, award presentations to outstanding Malaysian youths and the singing of patriotic songs.
