Blood Donation Campaign in Three States

SGM members continue their community service activities throughout the nation. In August, three SGM state branches carried out blood donation campaigns.


SGM Selangor, in collaboration with the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, organised a blood donation campaign at the SGM Selangor Culture Centre on August 24, 2014.

This activity was carried out with the assistance of 32 medical personnel from the hospital attracting 210 donors who donated 210 packets of blood.

On the same day, a dengue fever awareness campaign was held at the canteen of the culture centre, where three medical personnel gave a talk on the prevention of dengue fever. There had been an increase of dengue fever cases over the past six months in the state.

SGM Selangor Region Leader Lok Chee Khong, said that donating blood is a humanistic act and such campaigns would be carried out continuously as a contribution to society.



At the request of Hospital Alor Star, SGM Kedah organised a blood donation campaign at the Complex Star Parade in Alor Setar on August 8. In this campaign, close to 120 packets of blood were collected.


SGM Melaka has been working together with the blood bank of Melaka General Hospital for the past 14 years. On August 10, it organised a campaign at its culture centre and obtained 96 packets of blood.
