"Seeds of Hope" Exhibition at Han Chiang High School

The exhibition "Seeds of Hope: Visions of Sustainability, Steps towards Change", was shown at Han Chiang High School, Penang on April 17 and 18, 2011.

On April 17, the exhibition was held in conjunction with the "Third Penang Earth Day 2011, Nation Environmental Veg Day," organised by Save Earth Alliance, Pertubuhan Sudarshan Kriya Pulau Pinang and Han Chiang High School.

The event was launched by the State Town and Country Planning, Housing and Arts Committee chairman Y.B. Wong Hon Wai, representing the Chief Minister of Penang, Y.A.B. Lim Guan Eng.

Activities held also included save-the-environment educational sub-stations, Earthcare talks and pledges, tree-planting, movie-screening on green issues and green-healing energy session. Free vegetarian food was also provided by the organisers as an effort to inform the public of the advantages of vegetarianism towards helping to save the Earth and stopping global warming.

The next day, the exhibition was shown to all the students of Han Chiang High School. School principal Mdm Kung Bee Lee, reported that the school’s efforts in promoting a green environment has earned itself a six-star certificate, becoming an Environment Resource Centre. SGM also presented books on education, environmental care and philosophy for youth to the school’s library. The exhibition was viewed by more than 1,000 people.
