SGM Pahang co-organised the "Caring For Your Earth" campaign to raise funds for the March 11 earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. At the same time, it organised the "Seeds of Hope" exhibition in order to create awareness among the public about protection of the environment.

The campaign was held from April 1 to 3, 2011, at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) in Gambang, co-organised with the Society of Humanities, the Students Affairs Department and the alumni association of the university.

The "Seeds of Hope" exhibition was launched by the Dean of the Centre for Modern Language and Human Sciences, Prof Dr Abdul Jalil bin Borham, representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato’ Dr Daing Nasir Ibrahim. In his speech, Prof Abdul Jalil pointed out that many natural disasters were closely linked to over-development of the natural environment and that more people should be trained to safeguard the environment.

The Chairman of SGM Pahang, Mr Michael Kok Fook On, in his speech, said that the exhibition was held to spread the message of caring for the earth for the benefit of the next generation.

The exhibition was viewed by 305 students and lecturers. Also held were two seminars entitled "From Human Civilisation to Protection of the Environment" and "Technological Development and Protection of the Environment."
